General Disclaimer

Updated: 18 July 2026

1. Purpose of this Disclaimer

This Disclaimer clarifies the nature and limits of the information, guidance and Services provided by The Crew Atelier through its Website, digital products, downloads, calls, WhatsApp support, concierge engagements, editorial content, course comparisons, visa notes, accommodation guidance and every other output supplied by us. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

2. Information only, not professional advice

All content, deliverables and communications provided by The Crew Atelier are supplied for general information, coaching and career-support purposes only. They are the opinion and structured guidance of experienced yacht crew and career consultants and are not, and must not be relied on as, professional advice.

Nothing we say, write, publish or send constitutes:

  • legal advice or the provision of regulated legal services;
  • immigration or visa advice or the provision of regulated immigration services;
  • tax, accounting or financial advice;
  • medical, psychological or occupational-health advice;
  • regulated training, examinations or certification;
  • recruitment or employment services;
  • insurance advice; or
  • any other regulated professional service.

Before making any material decision — including studying abroad, signing an employment contract, applying for a visa, undertaking a medical examination or committing significant funds — you should obtain independent professional advice from a qualified adviser in the relevant jurisdiction.

3. No guaranteed outcomes

We do not, and cannot, guarantee any specific outcome. In particular, and without limitation, we do not guarantee that you will be hired, interviewed, referred, promoted, retained, granted any visa, passed by port-state control, cleared by any medical examiner, admitted to any school, awarded any qualification, or reimbursed for expenses. See clause 12 of the Terms & Conditions for the full list of non-guaranteed outcomes.

4. Third-party information

Comparisons, opinions, ratings, honest reviews and contact details relating to training schools, agencies, embassies, apps, service providers, accommodation providers, airlines, medical examiners and yachts are provided in good faith on the basis of publicly available information, our own experience, and information shared with us by crew. We are not affiliated with any school or agency named on the Website unless expressly stated. Prices, availability, curricula, standards and regulations change frequently and without notice; you must verify current details with the third party directly before making a decision.

5. Multilingual content

Our Website and communications are provided in multiple languages. The English-language version is the authoritative version. Translations are provided for convenience; in the event of any discrepancy between the English text and a translated version, the English text prevails.

6. Currency and market information

Prices, salary ranges, tip estimates, seasonal windows and hiring cycles referenced on the Website reflect our understanding at the time of publication and are illustrative only. They are not a promise or forecast and may change at any time.

7. Testimonials and case studies

Testimonials and case studies published on the Website reflect the individual experience of a specific client. They are not a guarantee, warranty or prediction of the results any other client will achieve. Where names, ages or specific details are used, they are used with consent and may be anonymised to protect privacy.

8. Course booking assistance

Where we help you compare or book a course, we act as an information intermediary. The training contract is between you and the training school. We do not operate, own or accredit any school. Cancellations, refunds, complaints and certifications are governed by the school's own terms.

9. Visa, immigration and travel information

Visa checklists, seafarer-book overviews and travel guidance we provide are informational summaries of publicly available government information. Immigration rules change frequently; we do not represent you in front of any embassy, consulate or immigration authority. You must confirm your specific eligibility with the competent authority or a licensed immigration adviser.

10. Medical and safety references

References to ENG1 or equivalent medical certificates, safety training (STCW), first aid and offshore survival are informational only and do not replace regulated medical examination or accredited training. You are responsible for undertaking and passing the required examinations and courses.

11. External links and platforms

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, tools and platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or practices. Access is at your own risk and subject to those third parties' own terms.

12. Website availability

We work to keep the Website available around the clock but do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free or secure operation. The Website is provided "as is" and "as available". We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it without notice.

13. Limitation of liability

The limitations and exclusions of liability set out in clause 14 of the Terms & Conditions apply in full to this Disclaimer. Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any consumer right that cannot be waived.
